Your calm is the intervention.
MISSION
Not the perfect script. Not the right consequence. Not the book you have not finished yet. Your calm. When you regulate yourself first, you change what is possible for your child, not because you perform patience, but because your nervous system becomes the safest thing in the room.
KNOWN exists to help you get there.
Every child deserves to feel known. And so do you.
THE PROBLEM WE ARE SOLVING
The parents doing this work are not uninformed.
They have read the books. They follow the accounts. They understand, at least in theory, what a regulated, attuned parent looks like. And then their child melts down, or pushes every button they have, or says something that cuts right through them, and the thinking brain goes offline. The knowledge is there. Access to it is not.
This is not a knowledge problem. It is a design problem. Nothing available was built for the actual conditions of parenting: the speed, the noise, the emotional flooding, the moment that arrives before you are ready.
And underneath all of it is something that almost no parenting resource names directly: most parents are parenting the way they were parented. Not because they want to. Because the nervous system learned what it learned before they had any choice in the matter. The patterns run deeper than intention. Deeper than knowledge. And they surface in the moments when there is no time to think.
You are not failing. You are working with what you were given. And what you were given can change.
KNOWN was built for that moment. And for the work that surrounds it.
WHAT WE BUILD
KNOWN produces evidence-based child development tools designed to be used in real time and built upon over time.
Our products are grounded in more than four decades of peer-reviewed research in attachment science, developmental psychology, and the neuroscience of co-regulation. They are designed to close the gap between what parents know and what they can access when it counts.
The Lifelines Series
For the moment you are already in. When you need the words right now and do not have time to think. Each Lifelines guide covers one specific hard situation: the meltdown, the bedtime battle, the moment after you have already lost your temper, the sibling conflict, the public breakdown. Grounded in the research. Built for real time. Short enough to read in one sitting and use the same day.
These are your emergency tools.
The Roots Series
For the work between the moments. When you want to build something lasting in your child rather than just survive the hard days. Each Roots guide covers one foundational developmental capacity: the building blocks of identity, emotional regulation, resilience, and self-direction that schools do not teach and that no hard moment guide can build alone.
These are your developmental tools. The proactive complement to everything Lifelines gives you.
Together the two series cover the full landscape of conscious parenting: the reactive and the proactive, the crisis and the foundation, the moment and the arc.

Before the guides, there is one thing.
What To Say When You Go Blank is a free resource for the moments most parents dread. Five scripts. Five situations. Short enough to read in one sitting. Simple enough to hand to your partner tonight without preamble or explanation. Most parents memorize them after one or two uses.
It is not a guide. It is the beginning of a different kind of parenting tool: one that assumes you are already capable and just need the words within reach.

The Foundation
KNOWN was founded by Rachael Demir, a mother of two, a registered nurse and MBA. It began with her first child. She knew she wanted that child to thrive, and everywhere she looked she saw children struggling with their mental health. The questions stopped being professional and became personal, so she did the one thing nursing had trained her to do. She went to the evidence.
Nursing trained her to separate what the evidence actually shows from what merely sounds true: peer reviewed from popular, longitudinal from a single study, current from already outdated. Rachael spent nine years bringing that standard to child development, studying across attachment science, developmental psychology, nervous system regulation, and education research, with formal training at the Mindsight Institute. She is not loyal to any one method. She is loyal to the evidence, even when it is uncomfortable or unfashionable.
Her MBA changed what she believed was possible. In clinical care, one person can only reach the families in front of them, and the need is far greater than any clinician can meet alone. KNOWN is how that work scales: a child development education company built on peer reviewed science, designed to serve not only parents but the practitioners, clinics, and schools responsible for children.
Because every child deserves to feel known. And so do you.
